Kangna Ranaut may be his lucky mascot, but director Anurag Basu wasn`t keen on casting her in his much-talked about international love story `Kites` which is released on 21st May"I was not considering Kangana at all for this film (`Kites`) because she has done big and meaty roles. I couldn`t tell her that `Kangna you are my lucky mascot, please do this film`," Basu told reporters.
Kangna, however, didn`t have any apprehension in doing a cameo in the film that stars Hrithik Roshan and Mexican actress Barbara Mori.
"I was the one who gave her a break (in `Gangster - A Love Story`) and she is a very good friend of mine. She knew the length of the role and she still wanted to be a part of the film. Her role is like a guest appearance and that is what has also been credited for her in the film," he added.
